Pray for Elijah Charles Smith

Elijah Charles Smith, my nine-year-old grandson, is undergoing chemotherapy for lymphoma.

Elijah enjoys listening to the Bible on his personal iPod. He is a young man of faith. My prayer is that Elijah Charles Smith shall live and not die, and declare the works of the Lord. Please join Margaret, me, and our family in an all-out salvo of prayer in faith for Elijah’s prompt return to health.

My personal encounter with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) pales in the presence of this dastardly attack from Satan, who is the enemy of everything good.

This is a part of life that I would rather not experience. Even though Jesus alerted his followers to expect tribulations in this life, the tribulations are never easy. However, Jesus immediately assured that we should not fear, because He has overcome the world. He is in us, and we are in Him.

Great is our God!

Wendy and I agree with your prayer in faith for Elijah's prompt return to health, and our Lord declared in Matthew 18:19 "that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father in heaven." We love you and all your family.

Thanks Dad. We are so grateful to be surrounded in prayer at this difficult time. Elijah is a brave and strong boy. He is doing his part by being so patient with the heavy treament necessary to fight this disease.

I'm in awe of the strength of spirit and faith with which you are facing this disease. My prayers are with you and Margaret throughout this ime as this disease ciontinues to test this strength.

My prayers also go to young Elijah. As we grow older and having gone through many hurdles, we face new challenges with a certain sense of acceptance and determination to face and fight them, however devastating they may be; but when a child is thus affected, well, it is much much harder to accept. He is young, and the very young, not perhaps quite fully understanding the nature of a disease have a different way of facing adversity. They have an inner spiritual and physical strength that rises to the occasion to face it and overcome it.

The Air Force has just started its campaign for donations to the CFC (Combined Feneral Campaign)where one can choose among many charitable organizations to donate to and this year mine will go to the MDA, Cancer and Alzheimers Research.
